Country Day’s tennis team wins against Encina high school

The Country Day tennis team won 8-0 against Encina at their high school on May 18.

Freshmen Delsyn Beaton and Liam Kaschner were Country Day’s top players, coach Jamie Nelson said.

“This was their first time playing No. 1 boys’ singles, and they both won their matches. I’m very proud of them,” Nelson said.

Beaton won his matches with a score of 2-1 overall.

“I’m happy with how the game went and that I won my match. I’m also hoping to improve on my consistency when playing and my serves,” Beaton said.

Kaschner won his two matches with scores of 6-0.

“I feel that the game went well. Some things I would like to improve on include my backhand and my serve,” Kaschner said.

“I’m also proud of our team overall for winning this game with no losses on our side. Everyone did a great job,” Nelson said.

The next match will be held on May 20 at 2p.m. against Golden Sierra at Rio Del Oro.
