Girls beat long-time aggressive rival Forest Lake Christian in four sets

The varsity volleyball team won an impressive victory on Sept. 4 against powerful opponent Forest Lake Christian.

The Falcons have a reputation for being aggressive and have defeated the Cavs many times.

“I’m a little hesitant about this team,” junior Aidan Galati said before the game.”But we’re going to fight hard.”

And they did.

SCDS took the lead in the first set with a score of 25-18.

But in the second set, Forest Lake came roaring back, 24-26, despite freshman Kyra Petersen’s seven straight serves.

The Falcons and the Cavs played extremely close throughout the third set, but ultimately Country Day won, 25-22.

In the final set, SCDS wrapped it up, 25-15.

The girls next face Woodland Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Yolo County Fairgrounds.
