All aboard! Students to spend prom on Sacramento RiverTrain

Prom will be held on the Sacramento RiverTrain from 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

The train will depart from 400 North Harbor Blvd. in West Sacramento and travel to Woodland and back.

Photos will be taken starting at 7 p.m., but students who do not want them should arrive by 7:30.

Tickets cost $50 (including photos and beverages) and can be purchased from Student Council adviser Valerie Velo through Friday, April 12, in the high school office; tickets will not be sold at the door on Saturday. Students bringing guests must sign them up by Thursday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m.

Food will not be available on the train. Also, the company prohibits students from wearing stiletto high heels or going barefoot because of safety concerns.

Prom was last held on a train in 2016, and the venue was reinstated this year due to requests by the senior class.
