Maxwell Shukuya has attended Country Day since kindergarten. Born in Hollywood, Maxwell lived in Los Angeles for five years before moving to quiet East Sacramento. He loves film, and especially enjoys independent movies such as “Drive,” “Donnie Darko,” “The Darjeeling Limited” and “Submarine.” In addition to cinema, Maxwell has an insatiable desire to find new music. Recently, he’s taken a liking to groups Tame Impala, Pond, MGMT, Neon Indian and Girls. However, Maxwell enjoys a wide variety of all genres (from chillwave to lo-fi rock), excluding country. Despite Maxwell’s dislike for country, Johnny Cash maintains a special place in his heart.
