Q: What did you do this summer?

A: I went to the East Coast and looked at colleges. I mostly visited a lot of places in Boston—you know, Harvard, MIT, Wellesley, etc. I also visited Brown, Yale, and some other places. I went to a French camp at Concordia Language Villages for two weeks in August. (It was actually my first time in Minnesota anywhere other than the airport.) It wasn’t complete French immersion because some of the other kids didn’t speak French super well, but all the counselors spoke just French to us and each other.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A:  I’ll probably be a linguist. I like grammar and structure and systems.

Q: What is the best vacation you’ve ever taken?

A:  One year we went to Taiwan (I have family there) and one year we went to France.  Both of them were really cool.  (In France), we (went to) museums and cafés.  We shopped a lot and ate good food.

Q: Do you play an instrument?

A: I play oboe in the school band and chamber group.

Q:  What are your hobbies?

A: I spend a lot of time reading and Internetting.  I’m currently reading (the novel) “Wicked.”
