Senior Jake Longoria goes in for a layup in the boys’ game against Delta High School. The Cavs won, 91-22.

Opponent: Delta High School

Location: Delta

Final score: 91-22, Cavs’ win

High scorer: Senior Reggie Fan with 29 points.

Defensive triumph: The Cavs limited the Delta Saints to only 4 points in the first quarter.

Inside info from Fan: “I think our defense and rebounding was really good (tonight), but we still need to work on talking on defense.”

Inside info from senior Jake Longoria: “The game was fast-paced from the start, so we were able to get out and run the floor, which is where we excel. We did a good job of getting the ball out and finishing.”

Team areas of improvement per Longoria: “We need to work on playing better team basketball. (We need to make) the extra pass and find the easiest shot because if we are having an off night, we struggle to find points.”

Comment from coach David Ancrum: “I thought the game was played with a nice flow defensively. Making layups was the key.”

Next game: Thursday, Dec. 14, against Stockton Christian at 4 p.m. at Victory Christian in the Victory Christian Tournament.
