Date: Oct. 16

Opponent: McClatchy High School

Location: McClatchy

Final score: 0-3 Cavs’ loss (23-25, 19-25, 10-25)

Fun fact: Assistant varsity coach Sarah Song covered for varsity coach Jason Kreps while he was on the seventh-grade trip to Yosemite.

Coach’s comment per Song: (McClatchy) had tough servers, and our serve receive was not gelling. We were trying out a few players in different positions from our usual lineup because it was a scrimmage game.

Our team needs to work on camaraderie through positive language, body language and showing support for shaking off errors and focusing on the next play. We can also work on anticipation, reading while on defense and intensity through the entire set and entire matches.

Inside info per sophomore Briana Davies: We need to work on serve-receive and being able to recover as a team from errors.

Next game: Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. at SCDS against El Dorado Adventist.
