On Dec. 8, senior Jewel Turner represented Country Day on the South Small School team in the 36th Annual Optimist High School Girls Volleyball All-Star Game. The North won 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 26-24 at Capital Christian High School.
The teams consisted of seniors from 23 schools in the Sacramento area, with the North having the home-court advantage.
Turner started the second set, playing right side. She played for a total of 26 minutes and scored two points.
“Overall, the team played really well today,” Turner said. “Both teams had great players, and the (match) was very close throughout.”
Turner said she was pleased with her performance.
“I think I played pretty well,” she said. “(Since) I’ve never played with these girls, I’m really happy with how (we) performed.”
Turner said the match was a good way to end her Cavalier career.
“Although we didn’t win, it was still a great game,” Turner said. “I’ve known a lot of these girls for a really long time, so to end (my high school career) with a good, fun game was a great experience.”
