Sophomore Arjin Claire scored two second-half goals to lead host Country Day to a 4-2 victory over the Forest Lake Falcons on Sept. 14.

Freshman Jacob Chand scored early, and Forest Lake accidentally kicked the ball into the Cavs’ goal.

Chand said he was thrilled about scoring his first varsity goal.

“I’m definitely going to remember that goal because I want to score as many goals as last season, and I have been waiting for that goal for a bunch of games now,” Chand said.

Country Day led 2-0 after 26 minutes, but Forest Lake tied the score 2-2 two minutes into the second half.

“We did a really good job moving the ball around,” co-coach George Champayne said. “We were really dominating the game in the first 15-20 minutes. When we get two or three goals, we can’t let up mentally. At one point, we mentally let up, and they caught up to us.”

The Cavaliers’ next game will be Monday, Sept. 16, at 4 p.m. against Alexander Twilight at Country Day.
