The varsity volleyball team defeated the John Adams Patriots with strong runs, 25-11, 25-11, 25-17, on Sept. 4 at home.
On six occasions, the Cavs kept the ball for at least four points. In the beginning of the second set, junior middle Naomi Cohen served in a five-point streak.
Coach Jason Kreps said senior middle Savannah Rosenzweig stood out.
“She had three (or) four good blocks, good presence at the net, and (she) played back row — which she hasn’t done all season.”
Rosenzweig said she was happy with her performance.
“I’m really proud of how I (played). I don’t think I could’ve ever done anything I did (then) last year,” she said.
Sophomore libero Vanessa Escobar said one of the team’s strengths was its dynamics.
“We communicated well with each other, and most of the time we did three passes and got it over the net,” Escobar said.
The Cavs’ next game is on Friday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. at Rosemont.
