Inside info per Burns: “I tried to play more consistently during this match because I’ve been making a lot of unforced errors recently. I tried to go for higher percentage – safer and less risky – shots.

“I want to work on my serve because it was really inconsistent. I double-faulted a lot.”

 

Inside info per Brown: “(Chardonnay and I) won because we were able to work together.”

 

Coach’s comment (per coach Jamie Nelson): “We were able to have players for six of the nine categories for the only time this season.”

 

Next match: The league singles championship is Monday, April 20, at 8 a.m. at Highlands High School. Burns and Eisner de Eisenhof will compete to advance to the section championship in Stockton.
