EARLIER TOURNAMENT GAME
Opponent: Stockton Christian
Location: Victory Christian High School
Date: Dec. 14
Final score: 66-51, Cavs’ win
High scorer: Senior Reggie Fan with 19 points.
Defensive player of the game per coach David Ancrum: Sophomore Ted Zhou
Inside info per freshman Max Wu: “(It) definitely wasn’t easy. The scores were pretty close most of the game.”
Team areas of improvement per Wu: “In the first half, our defense wasn’t as good as normal. The opposing team kept driving through the baseline. We weren’t properly closing the gaps on defense. We also weren’t getting enough rebounds. However, in the second half we were able to step up our defense. We created a strategy to counter their offense, (and) we had multiple steals and multiple defense stops.”
Comment from Ancrum: “The defense was better in the second half, and the ball movement was really good.”
