“I couldn’t have imagined a better way to end the season,” said sophomore Naomi Turnbull.

On Oct. 26, the JV girls volleyball team beat Sacramento Waldorf in their final match of the season.

Though the Cavs fell to the Wind Waves in the first set, 21-25, they had no intention of losing their season finale.

The girls fought back in the second set, securing a solid lead, 20-10. The Wind Waves were unable to recover from this deficit, and the Cavs took the victory, 25-17.

Going into the third set, both teams were eager to pull out the win.

The Cavs began with a rocky start, trailing 1-5, but soon recovered, tying the game, 11-11.

“I had never seen so much energy on the court. We were diving for balls like never before,” said Turnbull.

The Cavs finished strong and won,15-13.

“It felt great to end the season with a terrific match and a win,” said coach Sarah Song.

“The movement during this game is what made the difference. We had some great passing in serve receive and wonderful defensive digs,” said Song.

Looking back on the season, Song praised the JV girl’s enthusiasm.

“I’m very proud of our JV team for their eagerness to practice and play this season. I hope that they all stick with the game so long as they enjoy being on the court!”
