Date: March 7

Opponent: Sacramento Waldorf Waves

Final score: 9-8 (Cavs’ victory)

Inside info from senior Emil Erickson: “We won because the team toughed it out and made some key plays at the end of the game. The difference (from our last game) was our hitting. We didn’t play the greatest defense during the first half of the game, but we kept scoring runs, and that was really important. Also, (sophomore) Jack Christian came in and pitched really well at the end of the game.”

Coach’s comment per coach Chris Millsback:We had two excellent pitching performances by (sophomore) Nate Jakobs and Jack Christian. We also had a number of great defensive plays, as well as some timely hitting.”

The Cavs will face off against the Valley Christian Lions on Friday, March 10, at McAuliffe Memorial Park at 4 p.m.
