Besides rebounding, JV girls improve in all aspects; Cavs still lose to Victory

Date: Feb. 9

Opponent: Victory Christian Vikings

Location: Victory Christian School

Score: 38-15

Quarter 1: 9-0

Quarter 2: 22-6

Quarter 3: 30-10

Leading scorer: Freshman Bella Mathisen with 6

Inside info from sophomore Nina Dym: “I think our energy was a bit low. We weren’t getting the rebounds we needed, but we did improve from the last time. Overall, it was a good game because we improved in every other aspect.”

Inside info: The Cavs started off weak, going scoreless in the first quarter. Having a scoreless quarter is demoralizing in itself, let alone the first quarter, which makes it really hard to pick up momentum in the second.

X-Factor: Sophomore Zihao Sui came off the bench and put up 2 points for the Cavs (her first points of the season).

Next game: Thursday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m., at home against Esparto High School

Records: Cavs 0-10, Vikings 1-3
