Defense a problem in varsity boys’ loss to Bradshaw Christian

Date: Jan. 11

Location: SCDS gym

Opponent: Bradshaw Christian High School (Div. V)

Score: 55-67

Leading scorer: Sophomore B.J. Askew (26)

Inside info from junior Adam Dean: “We played bad defensively, and we even let one player on the other team score 29 on us. Along with that, we were severely outrebounded. Offensively, we had bad shot selections, in part because we only had three of our usual offensive threats without (sophomore Cole Johnson).”

Inside info from sophomore player Jayce McCain: “We played pretty badly tonight. Our defense once again failed us. We’ve been in a slump this year, but I believe we will soon figure it out and begin to play better.”

Unavailable players: Dean (sprained ankle) and Johnson (sick)

Next game: Friday, Jan. 15, at 8 p.m. at home against Faith Christian
