After stealing the ball from the opponent’s kickoff, sophomore Natalie Brown wove her way through the Leroy Green defense. She then put her last goal in the back of the net to complete the coveted hat trick.
The girls’ soccer team won away at Leroy Green Academy, 6-0, on Friday, March 13.
Brown has scored 10 goals in her past five games.
Even so, Brown says there are places she can improve.
“I definitely need to improve my free kicks,” Brown said. “ When I strike a standing ball, I have a bad habit of getting underneath the ball too much and lifting it.”
Freshman Evann Rudek scored twice and freshman Annya Dahmani once.
Even though they came away with the victory, the Cavs fought a physical game.
Leroy Green players were constantly pushing, Dahmani said.
They also argued with the refs and flopped on a few occasions, according to Dahmani.
The girls play Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at home on Tuesday, March 17. The charter school, located in Rocklin, has a record of 2-2-1.
