The girls’ basketball team will play their first round of playoffs on Feb. 20, against Victory Christian at their gym in Carmichael at 7 p.m.
Even though the Cavs score on average 34.5 points per game and have a league record of 6-6, they are placed eighth in the league brackets, whereas the Vikings, who have a league record of 3-7 and score on average 32.7 points, are ranked seventh.
Junior Julia Owaidat said that she believes the Cavs will win this game.
“Our playing has been so on lately, like at the game against Buckingham (Feb. 17, which the Cavs won 34-31), and every single girl really wants to win the whole thing.”
The top scorers for both teams have comparable records. Owaidat scores 9.6 points per game, while Victory Christian junior Drew Woodruff averages 9.5.
Whoever wins the game will go on to play Valley Christian, ranked first in the league. The date and time of that game is undetermined.
