The girls’ basketball team won third place in the second day of the Redding Christian tournament, Dec. 13. The Cavs played two games, losing to American Christian Academy, 35-46, and beating Dunsmuir High School by almost 20 points.
The game against American Christian was frustrating for the Cavs because the referees were very biased, said team captain, junior Julia Owaidat.
“It’s even more frustrating because the score was so close,” she said.
However, the Cavs were able to easily defeat Dunsmuir, holding more than a 5-point lead throughout the game.
Owaidat and senior Isabella Tochterman were awarded the all-tournament award.
The girls’ next home game will be Tuesday, Dec. 16, against Woodland Christian at 6 p.m.
