The boys’ soccer team was defeated, 4-1, on Nov. 15 by Ripon Christian in the Div. VII section finals in Stockton.
Freshman B.J. Askew scored five minutes before the half, to give the Cavs the lead going into halftime.
But Ripon Christian responded with three straight goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.
With minutes left in the game, Ripon Christian put away any chance of a comeback. Their final goal came with only minutes left in the game.
The game was held at Stagg High School.
Crowd turnout to the match was very high. Many students and parents came out to cheer on the boys.
There was vocal support for the team for the full 80 minutes.
“The crowd was pumped the whole time,” junior Julia Owaidat said. “You could tell everyone believed in the boys and wanted the win.”
