Girl’s JV volleyball team loses to Valley Christian

The junior varsity team lost against their rival Valley Christian on Sept. 26.

SCDS maintained a strong defense in the first set and had multiple service runs.

However the Cavs lost their momentum about halfway through the first set, and Valley Christian took this opportunity to get back their lead.

Both teams ran to corners and all over the court to save balls and keep the play going.

The first set held many teeth-clenching rallies, in the end Valley Christian pulled ahead and won 25-18.

The second set was similar to the first, but there were many unforced errors from both teams.

Valley Christian ended up winning the second set 25-13 and the match 2 sets to 0.

Even though the Cavs lost, sophomore Avi Bhullar was pleased with the match as a whole.

“We felt great and played great,” Bhullar said. ”We had good serves and had the opportunity to set up lots of three-touch plays with a strong defense behind it.

“By far this was the best game that we’ve played.”

The next game will be at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 5.
