Exhausted from Friday night game, girls’ varsity volleyball places 12th in Saturday tournament

Varsity volleyball placed 12th in a tournament at Jackson Sports Academy on Sept. 27.

The girls played a total of four games. They won the first three but were eliminated after the fourth.

After the first two games, freshman outside hitter Kyra Petersen left the tournament to catch a flight to Los Angeles. Petersen will try out for the Elite Beach Volleyball Club at Hermosa Beach on Sunday.

Junior middle back Maddy Judd did not attend the tournament either. Her thumb had been injured during practice on Wednesday.

The remaining teammates were forced to play in new positions.

“We played a lot of hard teams,” Petersen said. “And I think we were tired from last night.”

The next game will be at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. against Faith Christian.
