The varsity volleyball team won 3-0 against Buckingham at Vaca Pena Middle School on Sept. 17.
In the first set, SCDS got off to a rough start. Buckingham went on a couple of long serving runs and won quite a few points. When the girls broke Buckingham’s serve, junior Maddy Judd went on a serving run and helped SCDS win 25-16.
In the second set, SCDS was triumphant again with a score of 25-16.
SCDS had another bad start in the final set. Varsity was extremely close with Buckingham until the very end when SCDS pulled ahead and won with a final score of 25-22.
“Everyone was really loud and played really hard,” Freshman Kyra Petersen said. “We were very aggressive.”
The girls’ next game will be at home during the Sports Booster’s Chili Cook-Off on Friday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 against Cristo Rey.
