Girls’ varsity volleyball destroys Buckingham, 3-0

The varsity volleyball team won 3-0 against Buckingham at Vaca Pena Middle School on Sept. 17.

In the first set, SCDS got off to a rough start. Buckingham went on a couple of long serving runs and won quite a few points.  When the girls broke Buckingham’s serve, junior Maddy Judd went on a serving run and helped SCDS win 25-16.

In the second set, SCDS was triumphant again with a score of 25-16.

SCDS had another bad start in the final set. Varsity was extremely close with Buckingham until the very end when SCDS pulled ahead and won with a final score of  25-22.

“Everyone was really loud and played really hard,” Freshman Kyra Petersen said. “We were very aggressive.”

The girls’ next game will be at home during the Sports  Booster’s Chili Cook-Off  on Friday, Sept. 19  at 6:00 against Cristo Rey.
