Girls’ basketball falls to Wilton Christian for the second time

On Feb. 7, the girls’ basketball team played away against Wilton Christian and lost for the second time, 26-42.

Last time against Wilton Christian the girls lost 39-62. This time the Cavs still didn’t have what it takes to beat Wilton.

“We just needed to make shots,” sophomore Julia Owaidat said.

Despite the team having trouble shooting, Owaidat thought the team had a strong defense.

“There wasn’t much we could do,” Owaidat said. “This was the second best team in the league. I’m so proud of the team—we played our absolute hardest.”

The girls’ next game will be at SCDS on Tuesday, Feb. 11, against Faith Christian, a team the girls have yet to beat. It will  be the last home game as well as senior night.
