Basketball teams suffer another sweep—this time to Valley Christian

All three basketball teams lost their games against Valley Christian, Feb. 3. It was only last Friday that the Cavs also suffered a sweep against Sacramento Adventist.

Varsity boys lost 114-74; JV boys lost 19-66; and varsity girls lost 31-75.

“We continue to lose games because of turnovers and rebounds,” coach Gary Brisco said.”We turn the ball over more than we have opportunities to score.”

Sophomore Bradford Petchauer said that the team broke the press well but missed a lot of layups.

“Press is when the team plays defense starting from the inbound of the ball, covering the entire court,” Petchauer said.

The varsity boys have three more games left in the season, and according to Brisco, they will continue practicing what they have all season.

The JV boys will next play Faith Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 4:30 p.m. Varsity boys will play Lutheran away at 6 p.m on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The girls will play Wilton Christian on Friday, Feb. 7.
