Boys’ varsity basketball lost 37-82 in an away game against Woodland Christian, Dec. 18.
Sophomore Bradford Petchauer said the team handled the pressure well, but the Cavs need to work on their confidence.
However, junior Skovran Cunningham disagrees.
“I don’t think we made that many mistakes,” he said. “The other team was pretty dominant. They were quick, efficient and could penetrate and get into our defense.”
“We were more calm, and our passing and spacing were really good. Near the end we even started rebounding and boxing out a little bit better.”
Cunningham said Woodland Christian has many speedy and hard-to-block players.
“They just got back quickly. If we got a rebound, they were down the court before we even got there,” he said.
The loss brought the Cavs’ record to 1-4.
The boys will play away against Sacramento Adventist on Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
