“We’ll be back next year” was the off-season battle cry of the boys’ varsity soccer team, but this year it didn’t happen that way.
In the Nov. 13 playoff game against Forest Lake Christian, the Cavs were defeated, 3-1.
The boys did have a mini-rally after finishing the first half down 3-0, when forward Keegan Crain scored the only SCDS goal in the second half..
“For most of the second half, we came back and we kept the ball on their side most of the time, but it wasn’t enough.” junior Skovran Cunningham said.
Cunningham said Forest Lake had three really good players, but the others were mostly physical.
Even though the team is losing their only seniors, Eric Hilton, Caleb Davis and Patrick Talamantes, they have taken up the rallying cry and definitely plan to be back next year.
