High school gathers for orientation as school year begins

Country Day students attended orientation on Aug. 29, 2022, beginning the school year with familiar traditions.

The class of 2023 arrived at 6:30 a.m. for senior sunrise. After breakfast in the quad, seniors walked through the lower, middle and high school campus while sharing stories from their years at the school. Other students joined them at 8:30 a.m. for 15-minute class periods, followed by lunch provided by the Parents Association and an orientation competition.

This year, high schoolers were organized into 13 teams, each led by senior captains. Games included bucket fill, water balloon toss, Sharks and Minnows and dodgeball.
