Parents Association to host week of events, games for Valentine’s Day

It was originally stated Friday was a half day, however, according to the Country Day Announcements and Actions email sent Feb. 15, Friday will be a full day for the high school.

With Valentine’s Day coming up and mid-winter break the following week, the parents association led by Sandy Buchanan and Sandee Chand has planned fun activities for Country Day students throughout the week, from Feb. 14–18.

The main events are occurring on Monday, with the student council planning a bachelor game during lunch and a party with a climbing wall and the Bacon MANia food truck after school. Monday night is also Senior Night for varsity basketball, with games against Buckingham high school.

Another event of the upcoming fun week is the “bucket list challenge.” Students will receive a passport to fill out throughout the week as they participate in different activities, such as getting to the top of the rock wall, eating strange food, going to the basketball game and singing karaoke.

Tuesday will be the opportunity for students to try strange, new foods in the “fearless food challenge.”

Wednesday will be a karaoke day for high school students and teachers. The “Urban Sips” food truck will be on campus to provide drinks to everyone.

Thursday is “crazy dress day,” and students may wear fun outfits to school. The SCDS Garage Band will also be performing at flex time.

Mely’s Churros will be served on Friday for students to enjoy.

All of the activities throughout the week will be free of charge to students, said Head of High School Brooke Wells.
