Jon Cormier, who replaced Wendy Ross as the director of advancement, will not return, after holding the position for only one year.
Cormier and his family have decided to return to the Northeast.
“We didn’t anticipate moving across the country for only a year, but being so far from family at this stage of our lives was more difficult than we ever imagined,” Cormier wrote in an email.
The job has been posted on the SCDS website.
The school is seeking someone to “lead its development office into a new and exciting stage of growth and advancement,” it said in the posting. “The Director of Advancement will oversee all of the school’s development programs, working closely with the Head of School, trustees, staff, and volunteers to motivate and educate the community of advancement goals.”
Cormier emphasized that “we would not have been able to surpass all of our fundraising goals this year were it not for the foundation of community that Wendy Ross instilled, the support of our faculty, staff and trustees and the ‘buy in’ and commitment we got from the entire community.”
