Traditional Alumni Panel scheduled for January

The traditional Alumni Panel, featuring students from the class of 2014 who are currently freshmen in college, will be split into two events this year according to college counselor Jane Bauman.

Typically, returning alumni have lunch with the seniors and then address the whole high school in a question and answer session in the MP Room during elective.

This event will be held on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. However, because some alumni cannot attend on Jan. 9, another event is being held on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11:45 a.m.

The event will be an informal luncheon during C-Day meeting, and new alumni, juniors and seniors are invited.

Bauman will bring pizza, seniors will bring desserts and juniors will bring salads. The event will not include a question-and-answer session according to Bauman.

Three seniors have confirmed for this event: Maya Kuppermann, Maddy Mahla, and Garrett Kaighn according to Bauman.

The traditional panel event on Jan. 9 will include luncheon, this time without the juniors, followed by the traditional panel, which the entire high-school student body is expected to attend.

Alumni Grant Quattlebaum, Charlie Johnson, Connor Martin, Abi Pantoja, Kamira Patel and Garrett Kaighn  have confirmed for the January event.

Bauman said if both events are a success, she might keep the format for future years of alumni.

“Who knows?” Bauman said. “This might very well turn into a new Country Day tradition.”
