Thursday, August 28, college counselor Jane Bauman will hold a preview to college counseling night for juniors and their parents.
Typically, this meeting has been held in February, because the counselors are busy with seniors in the fall, Bauman said. However, the junior meeting has been pushed forward to give parents information to plan college visits during Spring Break.
“Fall really is the best time to give parents of juniors the road map for the next two years,” Bauman said. “(During this meeting), I will highlight what has already been accomplished—students are taking rigorous college-prep courses—and what needs to be done—testing and college visits.”
There will be a second short meeting in February, Bauman said. At this time, she will distribute questionnaires to get some background information before the individual spring meetings with each junior.
