At the annual Rockvember Fest on Nov. 8, students took a break from classes for advisee conferences, games such as dodgeball, advisory group activities and a talent show. From seven acts, the judges – English teacher Jason Hinojosa, chemistry teacher Victoria Conner and senior Spencer Scott – chose freshman Garman Xu’s piano performance of “Prokofiev Gavotte Op. 12, No. 2” by Sergey Prokofiev and “Étude Op. 10, No. 12” by Chopin. Xu, who won a $50 gift card, has played at Carnegie Hall twice.
