Junior David Liu helps brother get famous on YouTube

New junior David Liu attended Mira Loma High School as a freshman and sophomore. He lives in Fair Oaks.

Q: What did you do this summer?

A: I went to Bryce Canyon, Utah, for hiking and sightseeing. I saw deer, and they were extremely close to human settlements. I went to a river and took a couple of pictures. I also went to this place called Angel’s Landing, where there are railings on top or on the side of a mountain which you’re supposed to hold onto for your life. I was pretty high up, and the view was pretty great.

I also did summer school classes. (I took) health at El Sereno (an independent-study high school).

Q: What are your hobbies?  What sports do you play?

A: I play video games. I used to do water polo. I swam for Mira Loma. I might (swim for SCDS).

Q: What is something you’ve done that you’re really proud of?

A: I was a major contributor in helping my brother, Michael, get fairly famous on YouTube (Check out his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/riceboyliu). He makes comedy music videos. Whenever my brother’s making videos, it’s just him and me. I’m always behind the camera.

Q: What’s your favorite movie?

A: “Inception.” It has action in it and a lot of that I like. And even with the action, it was a fairly smart movie.

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A: Shanghai. I visited Shanghai once, and I really liked the city. It wasn’t foggy. The air was clean. And the (place where I stayed) had a really great view of the river and the skyscrapers.
